چکیده
(1.5) Proposition Let R be a semisimple ring. Then R is isomorphic to a finite direct product ∏s i=1 Ri, where each Ri is a simple ring. (1.6) Proposition Let R be a simple ring. Then there exists a division ring D and a positive integer n such that R ∼= Mn(D). (1.7) Definition Let R be a ring with 1. Define the radical of R to be the intersection of all maximal left ideals of R. The above definitions uses left R-modules. When we want to emphasize that, we say that n is the left radical of R.

Automatic continuity of surjective $n$-homomorphisms on Banach algebras
In this paper, we show that every surjective $n$-homomorphism ($n$-anti-homomorphism) from a Banach algebra $A$ into a semisimple Banach algebra $B$ is continuous.
متن کاملLie algebras
Introduction For this course you need a very good understanding of linear algebra; a good knowledge of group theory and the representation theory of finite groups will also help. The main sources for these notes are the books [6] and [8]. We give complete proofs of all statements with the exception of the conjugacy of Cartan subgroups, the uniqueness theorem for semisimple Lie algebras, and the...
متن کاملSemisimple Lie Algebras, Algebraic Groups, and Tensor Categories
It is shown that the classification theorems for semisimple algebraic groups in characteristic zero can be derived quite simply and naturally from the corresponding theorems for Lie algebras by using a little of the theory of tensor categories. This article will be incorporated in a revised version of my notes “Algebraic Groups and Arithmetic Groups” (should there be a revised version).
متن کاملIrreducible Modular Representations of Finite and Algebraic Groups
In these notes we outline some aspects of the modular representation theories of finite groups of Lie type in defining and cross-characteristics, with particular interest paid to how these theories relate to the modular representation theory of algebraic groups and the (characteristic 0) representation theory of Lie algebras and quantum groups. We begin by summarizing some classical results on ...
متن کاملModular Representations of Hecke Algebras
These notes are based on a course given at the EPFL in May 2005. It is concerned with the representation theory of Hecke algebras in the non-semisimple case. We explain the role that these algebras play in the modular representation theory of finite groups of Lie type and survey the recent results which complete the classification of the simple modules. These results rely on the theory of Kazhd...
متن کاملSome notes for topological centers on the duals of Banach algebras
We introduce the weak topological centers of left and right module actions and we study some of their properties. We investigate the relationship between these new concepts and the topological centers of of left and right module actions with some results in the group algebras.
